Very nice looking piece of kit. Already starting to look for my next camera. The FLI cooling really impressive, and I have to say it is more important to me now than anything else.
Every thing looks in proportion though with regard to the mating of the camera to the scope. I really am looking forward to what images you will produce with this camera.
Congratulations on becoming a dad, again -- she's a beauty.
I will hopefully have my toy at the end of this week, or early next.

Yeah, right ......... .
Im sure youll be stoked by the big chip Mike, good planning way back on a scope that could handle it now . Nice fit indeed.
Now you got NB cranking, the extra QE will be much appreciated.
The whole kit you have now is pretty much unbeatable for the FL , well, except for internal guide...anyway, no diff for you with your FL , so nothing lost there really.
Can you send me a PM when you want to upgrade from the 583 - I think that might be the camera for me! (Assuming of course there isn't already a long and distinguished line ahead of me and you don't want to do it immediately, as my signature line shows all that I've blown the astro budget this year...)
My wife knows what a CCD is = "Costly Camera Divorce"

Had a clear night last night here in Newie but I had pre-arranged drinks after work based on earlier weather reports . As the night drew closer and I was sqwilling beers in a beer garden my heavenly gazes slowly casued mild axiety and depression...tempered by the multiple brews luckily
Holy hell.. Do you see the size of the opening on the front of that camera! Geeezuuuss!! Most people could fit their fist inside there..
Ps : Way off topic here.. but im throwin it in... What would you recommend doing in order to beef up the forearms... im in the gym 4~5 days a week, everything seems to be going fairly well, but my forearms are too small for my biceps/triceps... I look disproportionate and it drives me nuts...
I know! post me your camera/scope, I'll lift it a few hundred times and see how I go.... (more fun lifting that than 175kg stones... )

Yes my forearms was an area I have noticed a lot of diminished size since retiring from heavy lifting, I always liked making a fat bodied goose by bending my arm at the elbow and turning my wrist away with fingers in a pinch grip to entertain kids . Forearms are like calves, their size is a little influenced by your Genetics but the biggest forarms are gained by lifting or pulling heavy weights in general but without using wrist straps, chinups are good but the deadlift (without using wrist straps) is the king of developing forearms and grip strength, also just hanging from a bar with one hand at a time for as long as you can a couple of times a week and adding weight to your body over time is good - over time I got to: my bodyweight (130kg) + 30kg hung around the waist held for just under a minute with one hand = big forearms .

I can hardly lift the 135kg stone now ...lifting peoples spirits is about as good as I can manage these days
