Hahnel Captur Timer Kit

Havent shot a star trail for six years. Grabbed my old $25 Godeox EZb and it still works. However need something more reliable. There are plenty of ads for the Hahnel Captur Timer Kit that matches my Canon 6D, however I've seen a rash of bad reviews from users about the Hahnel especially when trying to set a 1sec interval after each exposure.

Anyone out there got an opinion on the Hahnel? Id love to hear some feedback before i blow $100.

Cheers Carl

Hi Carl,

I used one for a while when I was using a DSLR. Great bit of kit. Worked flawlessly and didn’t seem to bothered by the cold. Just keep an eye on the battery life.

Cheers

Does the 6D have a built-in intervalometer? Why not just use that?

If you're feeling brave there is some after-market firmware for Canon cameras called 'Magic Lantern' which adds that capability (and a whole lot more).

Cheers,
V

Carl

Thanks guys.

No Steve the Canon 6d doesn't have a built in Intervalometer, otherwise i would be using it. Thats why i kept it simple with the cheapie from China. I'm going on a trip specifically to do photography and dont want any stuff ups. I could always buy two cheapies for $60.

Cheers
