Qld Astrofest 2010

Just booked our boat fares for our oddessey to Qld Astrofest.

For anyone from Tassie who is interested in driving up to Astrofest, the Spirit of Tasmania has discounted boat fares 50% off for a limited number of bookings on fares from 1 May to 21 August 2010.

It's pays to book reasonably quickly as traditionally the return fares (Melb-Tas) towards the end of August go quickly because all the grey nomads are deserting Qld and returning to Tas for the warmer months.

I hope we'll see more of you and Liz this year.
LOL It's months away, and I'm excited about Astrofest already!!
It really tops the list on the Australian Astronomical Events calendar.

Oh, goodness. I'm so tempted, but, I don't think I'm going to have enough leave as I'm due for a second trip to New Zealand in November for a few weeks.

I might have to purchase some leave. Would dearly love to come up and image some of the northern objects!

I've invited two of the best planetary imagers on IIS to be Honoured Guests and to that effect, Quark has agreed to come and deliver an address on the first Saturday of the Astrofest. Its going to be great to have Trevor come and relate his experiences.

Unfortunately Bird will be on the road to Perth that weekend and feels that a detour to SE Queensland might be a little off-track . No matter, I will try and drag him up here next year... or the next. Failing that I will just sell him some raffle tickets .

I hope you have a chance to come up Humayun... lots of good company... except for the rabble near the volley ball court (they know who they are ).

Adam and I are in for a substantial part of it. We just don't know how to get approval from work and from the boss.
