Hi Charlie.
Anywhere on the East coast (with a good view of the East horizon) will get a good view of the eclipse. The real action starts at about 18:45, when the moon will be about 17° above the horizon and you will see it start to get covered by shadow. This stage lasts approximately an hour as more of the moon will get covered by shadow.
Totality starts at 19:52 and the Moon will be about 29° above the horizon. Totality lasts for 90 minutes, so there's plenty of time.
Make sure you take a chair, warm clothes, your camera and tripod!
