Dolphin head Nebula and RCW53C

Dolphin head: Taken earlier this year but didn't get around to processing till now.

8 hours of 600 seconds
TS-OPTICS 130 and the riccardi 0.75 reducer
Optolong L-ultimate
Processed in Pixinsight combined in pixinsight and Photoshop
ZWO 294mc pro


RCW53C part of the Carina nebula rarely photographed on its own.
1.5 nights

HOO palette using the Optolong L-Ultimate filter
APP extracted the Ha and O3 channels then Foraxx palette in Pixinsight to use the stars. Added to the RGB channel and using the HA as a luminance channel.
50 x 600 secs for 7.8 hours in total
Finished it up in Photoshop

Both images are excellent , particularly RCW53C
Well done !!
Not sure about that Salmon colour though in upper section of the Dolphins bubble ?
I’ve currently captured 7 hours on the Dolphin ( Ha and Oiii ) and hope to complete it by early April ( 12 to 15 hours ) before it starts descending to low in the west
Never imaged it before , I can juuust squeeze it into my FOV with my 8” CF Newt in Sydney

With the Dolphin I tried a more muted colour palette so Ben I get back in front of a screen I might saturate myself it more and post that as a comparison

Stunning images Nik. That RCW53C is really special. Just dripping with detail and the colours are to die for!! Absolute cracker.
Agree that the dolphin could probably use some saturation - but I reckon this version still rates very highly. Great stuff
