NGC 2867 Planetary Nebula Carina - viewed Feb 11 with Tak 100D
This planetary is located on the south-eastern edge of the false cross.
EP Delite 7mm (105x). The nebula appeared as a small, featureless blob (no ring) of even brightness. It was neutral in colour, showing none of the normal blue/green tints, which many planetaries display.
Remarks: Its always good to see the variety of shapes & colours within various classes of objects. When John Herschell first viewed this, he thought he hay have discovered a new planet. Was it because of this, that these are called Planetary Nebulas?
