Mounting GSO 8" Newt tube rings

I've been mulling over how to mount the newt tube rings on my CGEM.

The 8" tube rings have single M6 holes on one side. The supplied vixen dovetail isn't great and is too small for the I've got on it (which will take both D-type and Vixen dovetails).

Originally I was just going to get a longer vixen dovetail. But I'm wondering how stable this will be mounting via single holes on each tube ring ?

On the other side of each tube ring there's 3 holes - an inner 1/4", and 2x outer M6 holes that are 30mm apart. It would seem that mounting it via the 2x outer M6 holes would be more stable. The problem is I can't find Vixen or D-type dovetails that have holes 30mm apart.

Does anyone know where I can get such a dovetail, preferably 8 - 12" long?
Or am I going over the top with this ?
How do others mount their newt tube rings ?

All ideas welcome. Thanks Chris

Hi Chris,
I made up an alloy bar and screwed the dovetail bar to that. I also added a smaller rail to the top of the rings to make it more rigid. I got a small 4 piece metric tap kit from Bunings to thread the holes (about $20). My scope is a 10" so I have made this heavy duty, the other long bolts are for mounting the scope to an older eq pier mount.
