2" vs 1.25" Focal reducer

Hey guys, I recently ordered a 1.25" bintel brand focal reducer for video astronomy which just fits on the nosepiece of the camera but bintel accidentally shipped me the 2" version. This screws in to the extension tube or the 2" adapter and so on but would this diminish the quality of the image compared to the 1.25" reducer directly on the nosepiece? Should I return it and ask for an exchange or just use the 2" they shipped.

Thanks
