Here's what I managed to rescue this morning, under some quite variable seeing conditions that didn't quite settle down.
Tak Mewlon 210, Tak x1.6 Extender, ASI 174 M, Baader AstroSolar photo film, Baader Solar Continuum Filter.
Cheers
Dennis

Dennis, that's a great image. Unfortunately, the Sun did not shine here today.

Regions 2866 & 2868 each have a large spot and several smaller spots as well as some faculae. They are become somewhat defuse as they approach the Sun's Western Limb.

Thanks for the compliment Bob,
You know what 'They' say ?
It's not the size, but how you use it !

Region 2866 is now very close to the Sun's Western Limb. One large spot shows along with 2 defuse smaller spots and some faculae.

One defuse spot next to the Western Limb is the only spot that remains visible in Region 2866.

There are 3 groups of Sunspots today. Region 2871 is the more interesting, as it has the most obvious spots and fucalue.
Region 2872 has only one medium sized spot.
Region 2873 has smaller spots, but lots of them.

September 22nd, 7.55am.
Region 2872 now has 2 spots and the region now looks more conspicuous.
Region 2873 has developed a dark, medium sized spot which is in a line with many smaller spots.
Region 2871 looks much the same as yesterday except that I did not notice any faculae.

I really MUST get out with the solar filter over the next few days. Haven't done any solar viewing for years, due to previous minimum activity.
The reports I'm reading here sound promising!

New Region 2880 is putting on a good show with one large & 2 medium spots. The large spot is surrounded by umbra, which also surround a small nearby spot. The three spots is in an attractive V shape, with the large spot being the bottom of the V.
Old Region 2877 is now close to the Solar Limb and has lost its luster.

Thanks; like U, the solar minimum nearly killed my interest in solar observing. However, that's has past and now is a good time to start looking again.

Region 2880 is looking very attractive. With a solar filter on a 80mm scope, I could see that each of the three spots are actually multiples.
I could no longer see Region 2877.

New Region 2882 has appeared almost on the Sun's Eastern Limb. It looks long and skinny because of the side-on view.
Region 2880 continues to put on a good show.

The spot in Region 2882 looks much larger today. There is also faculae in the area.
One of the spots in Region 2880 had faded and the Region has lost its attractive V shaped appearance.

The very large spot in Region 2882 is now surrounded by umbra. It reminds me of a coral Island surrounded by an atoll. The faculae seen yda is no longer visible.
Region 2880 had now one medium sized spot with 2 tiny nearby spots.
Today, I used a 80 mm scope with a solar filter rather than just EP projection.
