Hi all
The dates will be Friday 28th to Monday 31st, so 4 nights. I will send an email as well to update.
Sorry if it took a few days to finalise but with myself being unavailable for the first 2 nights I wanted to make sure we had enough committee members there to handle any issues that may crop up. Thank you for your patience guys.
Be sure to bring those excellent skies back with you, or there may be a significant splash in the lake around midnight. You, of course, will be the object occasioning the splash......
Well just returned from SV.
Unfortunately the area is a quagmire and realistically I do not see the observing area drying out enough before Friday week to be usable. It did not matter where I walked on the field it just drew up water from underfoot.
In the photos I post you will see water around the campfire and that is what the ground is like from the tree line beside the road down to the lakes edge.
Good news is the area Malcolm suggested for parking previously is fine. If you decide you're going to setup a scope it will have to be in the area in front of the cabins.
For some strange reason I'm not being permitted to upload images, I'll try again later
Thanks John
On the upside, I have attached screenshots of the weather forecast for the next 7 days showing rain on Thursday/Friday then fining up and the long range forecast looks OK.
At this stage the numbers will be lower than normal as a few are unable to make it or are heading to Nhill.
I think it will be up to each individual to decide if they setup on the field, otherwise we may be setting up some in the quadrangle as previously mentioned. the weather certainly has not been kind this spring!!
I hope to contact many of the attendees in the next few days and update.
Hi Malcom. Just wondering if 240 volt power is available for those who set up in front of the cabins for some AP. Also, any spots OK to pitch a tent.
I'm having AP withdrawal symptoms also...................
