Maybe not a carpet so much as a rug

This thread has been a bit neglected, so maybe I can kick it off again.

The next photo should be Something You Love Seeing Around Your Town

Giraffy, made by my grandmother for me in the '60s, some 50+ years ago. Giraffy is still going strong.

Ironman as seen at the Marvel Exhibition at the Brisbane Gallery of Modern Art in Aug 2017.

The next photo should have something to do with geometry.

Cheers

Thanks Suzy. Huge greenhouse complex just out of town, and I think there may be a few other good ones if I can just get inside :-)

Here's something you shouldn't touch.

Relocated from the vege garden last summer by the wonderful people from WIRES.

The next photo should have "cogs" in it.

Cheers

Cogs - maybe ...engineers may call them gears, but to me, cogs will do

The next photo should invoke "power".

Cheers

Mare Serenitatis, aka Sea of Serenity.

The most noticeable feature is the crater Posidonius on the northeast rim of the mare. Mare Serenitatis connects with Mare Tranquillitatis to the southeast and borders Mare Vaporum to the southwest.

A mass concentration (mascon), or gravitational high, was identified in the centre of Mare Serenitatis from Doppler tracking of the five Lunar Orbiter spacecraft in 1968. The mascon was confirmed and mapped at higher resolution with later orbiters such as Lunar Prospector and GRAIL.

Both Luna 21 and Apollo 17 landed near the eastern border of Mare Serenitatis, in the area of the Montes Taurus range. Apollo 17 landed specifically in the Taurus-Littrow valley, and Luna 21 landed in Le Monnier crater.

The next photo should show "random patterns"

Cheers

Whoops - the sequence went something like Power...Cogs...Serenity and ended up at "random patterns".

Maybe the F-111 afterburners produced random patterns of exhaust gases?

A Trio to Choose From

Take your pick, they all seem pretty random to me.
I know it's traditional to post just one, but it seemed like I needed a bit more to support my contention.

In line with these, the next photo should be a Magnificent Sunrise or Set. Something way beyond the average would be nice.

Thanks for keeping things moving along Trevor.

I think this foggy morning sunrise might fit into the category of something special.

The next photo will show some "mechanical complexity".

Cheers
