Maybe Windows is the culprit ???
My last 2 night sessions out ( after my laptop was exposed to the internet to download Startools V1.7, I haven’t connected it to the internet in 2 years ) midway through both sessions my mount stopped tracking and returned to home. Reset , reboot and continued imaging ok after that for hours on both nights without another problem occurring
Also the volume on my laptop when using APT ( I like the audio function ) was fluctuating without any intervention ?? Got to be Windows !
Cables and connections all ok
All drivers and com ports up to date and ok
Powered hub ok
Everything connects correctly
Im sure Windows causes some instability or interruption between Astro programs / platforms

The long-awaited version APT 3.90 is finally here! It comes with automatic refocusing, advanced plan scheduling, new focusing method, native support for many CMOS cameras and long lists of other new features.
That list is available here:
http://www.astrophotography.app/news
Note: If you are using Windows XP don’t install APT 3.90.

Ivo,
Thanks for the notification and update
Did you get time to upgrade the histogram when using the Flats Aid ?
It was mentioned some time ago and would be an advantage in lieu of the existing compressed histogram where you are solely relying on ADU values at each end
Cheers
Martin

Hi Martin,
The Histogram was upgraded and now there is Local button. When it is unchecked APT will show the whole 0-65535 range

Hello Fellows,
We have released an WearOS version of the APT DC app It shows the Deep Sky Darkness and Narrow Band time for the current night and the current location for easy checkup. As usual it is completely free, without ads, tracking and etc.
Here is a link to the APT apps (Android, iOS, WearOS) page where to find links and QR codes:

great to see you on this forum ivo! had apt for a year now, goes pretty darn good! would love to see more development in the sequencing space though; the script/command based process is ok for osc imaging, but a change to the ui would make building and reviewing a more complex mono imaging session a lot more user friendly.

Hi Adam,
Thak you for your kind words!
Could you explain your idea in more details? Personally, am mono imager for many years and will be happy to see your suggestions to improve the workflow.

no problem, its a great piece of software at a very reasonable price!
re the plan editor / scripting - would be nice to be able to resize / maximise the plan editor so its easier to view all at once.
same with the right side toolbar.
thanks again for the great software!

Hello,
APT 4.00 is here with many exciting features. The short list includes automatic focusing and refocusing for DSLR cameras. One more tab in the main screen – Summary Tab which defines a new level of APT usability. The top three are finished with PAPS – Polar Align via Plate Solving, implementation of the popular 3-point polar alignment. PAPS is using mathematical problem solution and code made by Rumen Bogdanovski, who made it for the INDIGO and AIN Imager projects.
The full list of novelties is available here:
http://www.astrophotography.app/news
Some features of the full version are made available in the demo
Note: APT 3.88 is the last version that works under Windows XP.

Thanks Ivo. Was having a few (non-APT) problems overnight when the update popped up so took the time to grab it. Lot of investigating to do. Heck, I'm still coming across things I never realised were there in the old version.
Great work.

Hello,
PAPS - Polar Align via PlateSolving is not showing accurate results, so the small update APT 4.01 is released to fix that. We have used the opportunity to include a few more fixes and minor new features.
Please update your APT to be ready for the next New Moon

Is there any way to get plate solving to work when using a ROI? Sort of screws up doing an automatic flip when plate solving fails because you're using a ROI. Or perhaps having it turn off ROI when trying to plate solve & reactivating it when done?
Just annoying.

Mark,
It might be worth joining the APT forum for these types of problems , Ivo usually replies in a timely manner
I don’t think too many folk use APT on IIS
Sorry can’t help I only use APT for capture plan and PHD2 dithering ( not mount control)

Cheers

Thanks Martin, was just being lazy & avoiding signing up to yet another forum, but I guess that is the place if I want results.
