I was looking at those. Should perform alright. The question is, how will it interpolate the lum data with the rgb? Can you separate it and process it independently of the rgb?

There was an image done by RJ Gabany with the 8050 chip in an Apogee Ascent camera a couple of years ago. Not sure if it was one shot sparse colour (I think it was).

It was of the Dumbbell and it was stunning.Try googling for it.

But its hard to judge performance of the camera in a way as its a 20 inch RCOS scope on a PME at a high end dark mountain site.

So conditions are super ideal, exposure is very long. But its a super image.

The advantage of the 8050 over the KAF8300 is that its an interline sensor rather than full frame with its potential for RBI.
