Why not give credit where it is due?
For 'A New Hope' that would be George Lucas' ghost writer; Alan Dean Foster (who you can also thank for 'Alien')
As for 'The Empire Strikes Back'; it was directed by Irvin Kershner, produced by Gary Kurtz, and written by Leigh Brackett and Lawrence Kasdan.
Episode 6
was written by George and Leigh. Here you can see George's influence writing in lame elements that add nothing to the story line, they simply serve as a means of extracting cash from your wallet via merchandising ... Ewoks etc)
Episodes 1,2 & 3 are a true reflection of George's talent.
They are fecal matter.
