Visit

Hi

I am visiting Sydney next week and will be in Adelaide for a few days also. Any good astro shops/ events I should visit (while the wife is shopping for clothes)?

If you were here at the end of October you could come to IISAC

In Sydney, you can visit Bintel (right in the city) or York Optical (north shore).

Hi John,

Firstly I hope you enjoy your visit down under. Bring your summer clothes for Sydney, expected maximum of 35 degrees celsius here today.

A visit to the Sydney Observatory might also be worth a look for you too, http://www.sydneyobservatory.com.au/. There is an exhibition on till 12 October, The David Malin Awards, highlighting the skills of our astrophotographers.

All the best.

Regards
Wayne

Just remember when looking at the sky to stand on your head or it will all look upside down

Enjoy your trip.

Just back from a whirlwind two week visit to Sydney and Adelaide. Clear skies every night we were there-I am so jealous.
With our schedule I didn't get to do much astronomy but I did manage to pay a visit to the Bintel shop in Sydney and talk to the staff there. Very friendly place. With the drop in the dollar against the Euro I was tempted to buy something but I didn't feel like carrying a 10" dob around Hong Kong on the way home
We are hoping to move over permanently next year all going well.
