DSLR imaging is the gateway drug that leads to...
I had fun with my DSLR at Astrofest but I wanted more.
The first bits of my "Father's Day present" have arrived
Cheers,
Rick.

I did see you recently joining certain non-CCD Astrobin groups and now I know why!
Looking forward to Rick's magic with CMOS sensor

Thanks, Mike. It's always fun researching and buying new toys
I'm hoping to preserve the no fuss set up and epic fields that the DSLR gave me but with better quality and colour than the unmodded Nikon.
Don't you still have that huge Starfire? Maybe you could dust it off

Thanks, Suavi. Looks like it will be a good weekend for collecting calibration files.

Nothing at all, Leon, apart from the pink stars
Might be a Nikon problem.

Does it mean that the old toy has become redundant? If yes, I would be delighted to look after unwanted noisy CCD that will only be catching dust from now and will even happily cover express postage to Proserpine

Alas, the U16M needs to go home to have a leaky CCD chamber fixed... again.

I like what you’re doing Rick. I’ve been drawn a bit more into widefield work of late. The 60Da still performs well but a cooled camera would be nice.

Thanks, Rodney. Will be nice to do something a bit different. I have a couple of very difficult targets in mind that I hope will benefit from a very fast system.
