Imaging opportunity at Sierra Remote Observatories

Greetings,

If any of you might be interested in joining an imaging team at Sierra Remote Observatories, feel free to contact me. We are looking for a couple of members to round up a team of 5.

Since late May last year, the group has been using a Ceravolo 300 CDK, w/an FLI ProLine 16803, AstroDon LRGB & NB filters, and an Astro-Physics 1100GTO mount with absolute encoders. The current configuration has a 1.43* x 1.43* FOV at 1.26 arcsec/pixel. For some image samples, please consult:

and

The team is also considering the use of a longer focal length astrograph (e.g., PlaneWave CDK) to provide a FOV in the range of 0.83* square at 0.73 arcsec/pixel to 0.61* square at 0.54 arcsec/pixel. A move to higher resolution, which would take good advantage of the exceptional seeing at the site, would open up opportunities to image interesting and under-represented objects.

With the current system, the cost of the lease per member would be ~ $200/month. If a larger instrument is used, the lease would be ~ $250/month.
