wooohooo!

I just bought a 12" lightbridge in great condition for $600. Huge upgrade from my 6" dob!!!!! It came with 2 x 2" eyepieces ( 26mm and a 35mm) 2 finders, a moon filter and a heap of extra astro gear. It is perfect condition. The mirrors look like it has never been used. The only trouble is I now dont have anything higher power than 26mm. I might pick up a superview from andrews to get me by until I can afford a couple of really good quality EP's. I apologize for the week of cloudy skies that is ahead of us.
Fingers crossed it will clear for the new moon.

The Superview EPs are good value but only available down to 15mm. They are cyrstal clear EPs.

Your in Lismore eh? Think about bringing your new dob out to Lake Chaffey, east of Tamworth, at the end of February. A bunch of us will be camping there for a week of dark sky observation. Check out the link in the Star Parties Forum section, 'Early Notification'..

Hey there Suzy, I'm pretty excited so much so that I got it out the backyard last night because I could see a large clearing in the cloud. By the time I put it together/checked collimating, solid rain clouds set in for the night. I'm itching for a good clear night. I did sneek a look at m42 though, freaking awesome!!!!. Can't wait to get it to a dark site. And I have some really really dark sites down here. Maybe good enough for the horsehead? fun and probably frustrating times ahead.
