Thor's Helmet

So I tried my first deeper exposure over two nights.
Thor's Helmet is an interstellar bubble around a Wolf-Raynet star.

Full res: http://www.astrobin.com/full/91997/0/

Total exposure was 296 minutes in 35 subs, stacked in DSS and processed with StarTools. I have not used any darks or flats, but I am getting a lightbox soon so will start using flats in the future. I'm happy with the low noise of teh CDS-600D (cooled, modded DSLR) but I'm interested in opinions if darks would help at all? I might try and take some tonight and reprocess it to see if they help.

Looks a bit surreal when viewed at full size. Everything's too "glowy" for my liking. I really doubt darks will make any difference with that camera, but bias and flats would still be a good plan (flats are the only way to deal with dust or specs).
