Howdy
Yes I have, Eddie has an overcoated mirror and its fine, as does Paul (Photoncollector) In fact Paul had his 8 inch recoated with quartz overcoat and the quality was amazing, fantastic resolution on Saturn one night with it. His new 12 inch scope is factory overcoated too, as are all the GSO reflectors I believe The overcoat is a must as it keeps the Aluminium pristine so can get max reflectivity every time.
I did consider Silver with Magnesium Flouride overcoat but George, Newcastle mirrormaker said he had such a coated mirror once and it went dull over time. If I lived 100s of Kms inland well away from the coast I might have gone that way, but for durability will stick with the Al and Quartz.
Thanks for the advice though.
Dave, I plan to head down next Tuesday, basically a week today, and cautiously hope to have it back the following week or even that Friday

Yes it will not be let out of my sight till handed over to Issac himself.
