Afocals of the moon

We've had some family over from NZ the last week and they wanted some astro pics to take back with them, so we shot off a few last night with my years old Canon 1.3 meg A10. Quite surprised how well they turned out for afocal and not a good seeing night. Just a bit of resizing for web and colour and contrast. Shot through Meade SCT, hand held.

hi Paul, good to see someone else has an interest in our moon, l find it a challenging subject especially close ups to try and maintain the crisp focus, it's almost a forgotten object these days.

Nice Paul, the first one would look much better with a bit more processing (unsharp mask and a bit more contrast).

nice shots though! and you're right Mick, there's not many who shoot the moon at the moment.

They went all the way to your place for some pictures (good as they are) of the moon?? You gotta be kidding.
I have to get out and image that moon a bit more.
