Like Narayan said, Peter Tan offers this service, and also sells the filters etc.
I have the 550D, full spectrum modified, in the US. Works a treat. Teetering on the edge of upgrading it, so it might be an option for you.

Hi John
Just only noticed your post, sorry mate. Get it done at Camera Clinic in Melbourne, I did.
It was the only place that was able to replace the filter with clear glass not UV/IR, I wanted it that way so i cou'ld also shoot IR landscapes.
They did a very good job and actually gave a warranty on their work. The only catch was that it cost me $500 which is way more than OS prices but i was happy to pay that to keep track of the job locally and deal with a company that has an excellent reputation for their work.
You may want to ask them if they have done any further investigations on cooling DSLR's which they planned to offer as a service in 2013.
Go for it, it's well worth the cost. Visit my page at 500px.com/crainer2 and see the results for yourself.
I will drop Peter a line - I am pretty sure I purchased by SPC900 webcam from him many years ago and compared to local or USA options looks very good value for money.
Any word on this John? I am thinking that if I get a 1100D I will get it modified for Astro Only work in the future, be interesting to note the cost..
I had a look at his website and it says:
EOS DSLR filter replacement service
- With filter purchased ... HK$400 per camera
Works out to about AUD$54? Doesn't seem right unless thats the cost without the filter price, then it would be about AUD$93 plus the AUD$54 which is around AUD$147.

Hi Andrew ,
I'd be interested in the result of your enquiry , it does seem very , very cheap? I normally steer clear of the very , very cheap!
Regards philip
I had mine modified at Camera Clinic, clear glass mod even though there was cheaper options available in the US. The mod worked ok, however, i have some funny streaking / light leak(?) if i image with live view on ... not sure why, but it wasn't there beforehand. The images do turn out fine if i turn live view off just before i start imaging (focus etc in live view set it up, then turn off live view and shoot away).
I'm now considering a cool modification from CDS in korea and kind of wish i did the cool/spectrum mod at once.

Andrew - I think with the darn airfreight element back and forth it came in well under $300, closer to about $260.00 or thereabouts So quite competitive really.
Just was not sure if I was going to get my camera back!
Thanks for the feed back John, do you know what the reasons were for your camera not wanting to come home? I am a little uneasy about sending mine now.
I would just email Peter first and make sure that he clearly commits to a timeline for you that's all - just seemed to not respond after I sent him the camera and several emails - maybe he was busy etc etc. But he did do a great job on it and all works well.
Jj camera are on the ebay look under full spectrum cameras, looks like they will convert nearly anything for about $200. They sell second hand and take trade ins, dont know what there work is like but there prices look good. For Nikon lovers they sell them too, all from Sydney.
Clear skies Ken.
