My best ever Corona Australis pic

Hi all
Got Corona Australis last night. I wanted to see if I could reach deep enough to get the brown smokelike dark nebulosity, as well as use the photoshop masking technique as shown here http://www.astropix.com/PFA/SAMPLE4A/SAMPLE4A.HTM
Image is 4x 5 mins ISO 400, uv/ir filter and MPCC. 10 inch F5.6 newtonian, Modded 350d camera. processed in Iris then Photoshop and Noiseware

Gee Scott, that's a nice capture with excellent processing. The composition is superb with that beautiful globular; nicely resolved too.

Cheers

Came out very well Scott. That 'dark' nebulosity is very dim (DUH!) I think it is front lit by nearby stars and by sky glow and light pollution?. The blue reflection nebulae are also not very bright.
A really lovely capture of a difficult target. Shows how good your mirror is now after recoating.

Thanks all
The FOV is such the full moon just fits in without touching the top and bottom.
Yes it almost looks like the is space pollution with the dark brown cloud. I should re-image it again without the uv/ir filter and see if excess infra red comes through.
This also demands re imaging with Berts 300mm lens too.

Have a look here

Taken with a Hutech LPR filter knocks out some blue.

The original post is here

You can see the detail and contrast is much better in Scotts picture.

Thanks Bert, I thought of using the uhcs filter too, but as theres little ha narrowband emission I though it best to use only the uv/ir filter. I will re-confgure my mount back to use with your lens and shoot with that next few clear nights.

cheers scott sure is strange. I remember was looking around for it then suddenly no stars at all from a section of the sky. very weird experience as i never come across seeing a patch of the sky without a single dim of star.
