Hi Guys

Nebula NGC6188 in Ha narrowband.. (click for big)
Taken on an RCOS 10" RC Scope at f9, SBIG STXL6303E Camera and PME mount at itelescopes Siding Spring Observatory.
22hrs of 3nm Ha, 33 of 40 min subs bin1, .
Processed with CCDstack and Star Tools.

A 1st for me, no PS tweaking at all. Straight out of Star Tools .

Did Mike really take the sledgey to your scope? stars look a little weird and they weren't in your eagle image. Great image none the less.

Cracker Jack image Freddo. Love the contrast that this band pass has produced. I followed Don's advice and have a couple of 5nm and one 3nm on the way to me right now. Your image has cemented that I made the right decision. Star shapes are a bit odd, but the detail more than makes up for that.

Cheers Peter, yes, that was the only blooming I had with 40min subs, left them in au naturale. Um, im a bit thick, am I in a monastery?

Ta, Yes, somethings sticky in RA and it hickups sometimes, and theres no PEC.

Thanks Mike. This is full frame, no croping, so its pretty wide really. Haveing the luxury of the scope chugging away night after night sure is fun, yes .

Thanks Greg, yes I was supprised how easy the streamers poped out, its the megadata wot done it. The framing was where Sky 6 put it, lucky.

Thanks Phil. Startools does a pretty good job sorting tone and range, whilst tracking/removing noise without loosing detail. There wasnt much noise though, with 22hrs.

Thanks Paul. Well, 3nm sure helped with this image, but as I learnt from AAIC though, its not allways appropriate. I always struggled with the Helix and 3nm for years, tiny noisey signal, thought it was just dim, then lately I tried NII and bang, huge signal !!!! , more than Ha!. As Don said, 5 or 7nm Ha or up collects Ha and NII which is far better for say Helix, unless you want them sperate. Im now doing 3nm NII on Helix. I have no idea how I will colour map Ha NII SII OIII. I dont want to combine Ha and NII, such a waste of imaging time. Friggen stars again.
