Your pic shows up the structure quite well. And an interesting comparison with your much earlier pic. I wonder if you thought then that you might still be imaging 30 years on?

I certainly wasn't thinking such an image as this latest M17 would ever be possible, that's for sure! Even Pro photos didn't show this much then.

That's a nice swan Mike Some of the stars have a green tint, but perhaps that's a narrowband issue? In any case you can easily fix that using SCNR in PixInsight.

Thanks for looking guys, in this age of mega data imaging (I heard of a guy who did 120hrs once ), t'was a snap shot, nothing grand...

Rolf the green tint in some of the stars was my wife's idea, she thought it would go with the curtains ...could fix it I guess...but meah, maybe not
