Your pic shows up the structure quite well. And an interesting comparison with your much earlier pic. I wonder if you thought then that you might still be imaging 30 years on?

Like the colours Mike, with better seeing I am sure you would produce a much better result. More data though I reckon.

Cheers Chris

I certainly wasn't thinking such an image as this latest M17 would ever be possible, that's for sure! Even Pro photos didn't show this much then.

That is beautiful. And, for such short integration time, too. Nicely done.

That's a nice swan Mike Some of the stars have a green tint, but perhaps that's a narrowband issue? In any case you can easily fix that using SCNR in PixInsight.

Yeah, totally! For a short exposure. Looks better than my 4 hour shot a few years ago.

Yeah, nice Swan Mike; smooth detail for a modest total exposure time

Thanks for looking guys, in this age of mega data imaging (I heard of a guy who did 120hrs once ), t'was a snap shot, nothing grand...

Rolf the green tint in some of the stars was my wife's idea, she thought it would go with the curtains ...could fix it I guess...but meah, maybe not
