One pier now has a 12 1/2 inch f/20 Dall Kirkham on a professional mount that could hold Jessie the elephant - courtesy of James Buckley (Maidenwell Obs).
It's an impressive looking beast in the flesh, Peter! It's a shame the weather gods weren't willing to allow any views through it last night...

Thanks Rick. The sky actually cleared after you left. But by then it was too late - I was no longer safe to operate machinery.

No problem.
By the way I just got some sun at solar noon and checked the NS alignment on pad #1 and it's spot on. The EW is off though and this may have deceived your eye a little. In view of your sorry state of health, pad #2 has been christened the Tandum Memorial Pad.
Hi Peter - any chance of coming up this weekend - i
Of course - although I think the best will be tomorrow night. But .....
And now, for the wonderment of all, here is Pad #2 complete with the dedication engraved into one corner in honour of our chief pole vaulter and milking-shed guru.

Tonight looks good and Saturday better be as well.
Finally got them coming to check the electricity meter Friday, so I need to be near by for that one.
The wind had died down a lot out this way.
It's lovely out.
Vega is just clearing the trees now.
I'm waiting on the Veil. Then, if I'm up to it, M31. We'll see, it's 10 degrees atm. Nice.
I swapped out the 10" newt for the tak cos of the wind.
I'll try out my new starlight filter wheel and tak adapters instead of the new mpcc adapter.
M16 narrow band for me
No sign of energex today and now origin have a completely different story for me, what a hassle it is. I'll fill you in on the details tomorrow.
We just got our first Origin Energy bill since installing the solar panels. Would you believe a quarter's bill of $45 - yep, that's right $45 - of which about half is network access charges? Wahoo!!
