Ten Chain Hill New Moon nights

The next new moon falls mid-week on 17th November. The next TCH night will therefore be Saturday following (Saturday 21st November). We'll have abit of moon - sets at 2210 hrs and will be 2 days short of the first quarter - so it shouldn't present any serious difficulty to anyone.
Let me know if you're coming.
cheers
Peter

yes.. But since when has a 7 day forecast been accurate, let alone a 21 day... Don't be negative..

Last two times I've been to Peters place, its been cloudy/windy/raining at dusk, by 9pm crystal clear skies, imaging till sun up..

How about doing the Rosette widefield? Beautiful depth, structure, variety, plenty of HA and OIII action happening in and around.
Here's one I did recently at 1000mm.

Hey Mick, where in the BOM site did you pick that up. I can't find any obvious long-range forecasts like that.

What about the Veil - with your APO you'd get the whole system in one frame.

I'll try and get away as well pete.

That's good news. I sure hope the 127 has seen some action by then. I whacked it up on the EQ6 today and had a play with setting it up on some terrestrial targets and am blown away by the optics.

I've set the QHY8 up with a MPCC and Peter Tan spacer for 55mm separation and put it on a Lumicon Off-Axis Guider with a QHY5 running straight into the ST4 port on the mount. Now the EQ6 is well aligned (thanks to Paul), GoTo's and guiding work well so I'm working on a list of targets for November. Good fun.

Peter.

I used a ToUcam and K3ccdTools tonight.. I went from raw setup, to less than 0.5 arcsec a minute drift in less than 30 minutes.. Its the way of the future..
