1962... LOL! My mother was having me, J.F.K. was struggling with the Cuban Missile Crisis and Frank Ifield was yodelling on radio. Argghhhh! Poor woman!

My younger brother had better music to be born to in 1964 - Rolling Stones, Cilla Black and the Four Seasons.
Same for me Chris -- we were only born two days apart. Before I'd started the exercise, I'd of sworn it would be one of the early Beatles hits ie Please please me, I wanna hold your hand etc. But as jjj put it so succinctly later in the thread ... "Frank Bloody Ifield ..." Concur !!

AUS: Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin
UK: Wand'rin Star - Lee Marvin
US: Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon and Garfunkels
Trivia: 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' started a ten week run at No.1 on the US chart. The duo had split-up by the time of release.

Can't complain too much , I guess...

"Sorry - the information we have for the Australian charts starts 7th January, 1956"

I'll just sit over there on that rocking chair with a crocheted rug over my knees and a bib to catch my senile drooling.

Geez, I was born when Snoopy vs The Red Baron by Royal Guardsmen was No 1, no wonder my music taste extends to the alternative and wacky.
I suspect that you will find more about yourself by finding out what might have been playing in the background when your parents conceived you, usually 40 weeks before your birthday but with some licence to add or subtract if you don't like the result e.g. Mull of Kintyre or Aga Doo

I had that single by the Royal Guardsmen. My mother broke it into pieces and threw it in the garbage because I wouldn't stop playing it over and over and over and over and over and over, ad nauseum. If only she hadn't have let me know that it annoyed her so much I might not have done it.

For those wanting Niagra dream of Mr. Idfield (or know what Omaroo on about), try these links;

A really good audio version of "I Remember You"
at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwD0vwLexNk

You can read about Frank Ilfield at;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Ifield

Note : Omaroo's avatar with yodelling just fits perfectly !!!!
I.e. "I Remember Omarooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"
(but with the 'oooo's' up two or three octaves)
