Not a common object to image, gave RCW38 a shot 2 weeks ago. was 10 x7 minutes expo at ISO 400. surface area is dim so had to process this image a few times before im satisfied with it.
I've got a few of the RCW objects including this one on my to do list, but considering their nature, it is going to have to wait till I have a modded 450D. Maybe you can buy one and sell it to me before it arrives
I understand your comment about the dim surface, it sure makes for challenging processing.
Not common indeed Eric, nice one. The neb looks clipped, but then again if its dim, what can you do?. Not a lot of noise there so processing seems to be a happy compromise.

LOL, why are you interested in the modded 40D? should be arriving in 5-10 days hehe.

I guess it is only 'Not a common object to image' because it is in the Southern sky , but your image proves the effort is worth it....
Thanks Karlsson. Yes, i wish more people out there will image more of the not your common ETA's etc.

Many thanks Ric. yes the surface area is very dim. with your DSI Pro II and the H-Alpha filter, you should be able to get quite alot of photons with this object
