Article milestone!

Hey I just realised that my "Astrophotography with a Dob" article has been read over 10,000 times!

Not bad!

My follow-up on "Planetary Imaging and Image Processing" has been read over 5,000 times.

Quite pleased with that, considering how much time I put into them, I'm glad they're useful to people.

Congrats, Mike.

As you say, that means a lot of people have been helped or guided as a result of having a read.

That's what it's all about

If they are anything like me " gee that guy knows what he is doing wish I could understand it!"

That is what good science is all about enough information so anyone else can replicate your results or even exceed them. If they are good enough.

On a personal note. The internet has given all of us no matter from what background, access to information that was usually held in university libraries, or equivalent such as CSIRO etc. This is a very good thing!

Congratulations

Bert

I also really think that education should teach you how to critically evaluate any 'information'. I find that too many people take 'information' on face value.
Here's one.
Nine out of ten dentists find fashion models desirable.

Just as we can access info very quickly, there is much of it that is dubious.

Mikes articles were written to inform without any agenda.

There are many that pervert or slant the information to some one elses agenda.

Not sure about my dentist - she seems to be happily married.

BTW - I found Mike's articles to be superb information (thanks Mike) and will prove useful the day I decide to take the plunge into other than pointing the camera at the sky (should I be so foolish that I want to tear my hair out!)

Given the nature of the articles Mike has written I'm not sure how much room there is for him to include an agenda or "pervert" the information contained in them, although I understand where you're coming from Bert.

An odd comparison, but I get your point

I am sorry the point I was trying to make that just because something is on the 'net, does not make it correct. I was in no way impugning Mikes article.
The fact he has had so many hits shows that it is worthwhile.

I was only commenting generally on the rest of the content on the 'net.
