F1 - Brazil Qualifying ONE HD 02:30 AEDT Sun 25 Nov 2012

So this is it. The final race of the season.

Irrespective of what Alonso does, Vettel only needs to finish 4th to win the
championship.

But the hot conditions in Interlagos can take their toll on vehicles.

Last year, F1 fans will recollect Vettel developed a problem with second-gear,
had to turn down the engine, short shift and let Webber pass.

Then only last week we had Mark's RB8 experience an alternator failure on lap 17
in Austin, causing him to DNF.

And as we saw again last week with Alonso third on the podium, his skill and
determination are never to be underestimated.

So anything can happen!

Note that qualifying will take place in the early hours of what will be in Australia
Sunday morning and will show on ONE starting at 02:30 AEDT (NSW, Vic).
Coverage also starts on TEN at 03:00 AEDT (NSW, Vic).

Coverage of the race itself will be on TEN starting at 02:30 AEDT (NSW, Vic)
which is the early hours of this coming Monday morning.

For the benefit of those who might record the event and watch it later after
work, please no spoilers here on IIS!

Should be a good one. Great track, suits the Red Bulls, can get some rain, altitude creates power issues for the cars. Seb should phone it in, but anything could happen.

For Australian viewers, one can also watch full replays of qualifying and the
previous race here on the TEN Sport web site (not available outside Australia) -
http://tensport.com.au/video.htm?movideo_p=47157

Handy to know if you ever miss a session.

(But I got up and watched it)

No spoilers

Absolutely no spoilers here until Tuesday.

However, for those who have not seen it yet, be prepared for the most exciting, the
most eventful and the most heart-stopping race of the season. (Yes, even better than Abu Dhabi).

For those who don't normally watch F1, then this is the one to watch. It is replayed
tonight on ONE (Monday) at 22:40 AEDT.

I couldn't take many more like that! What a season it's been - who said F1 was boring?

They normally do qualification in HD and could do the race. I guess it's either audience numbers or licensing. Could be the bean counters reckon why waste the HD channel on F1 when you could use it to rerun some other rubbish that might get more people to watch the adverts?

I preferred ONE when they only did sport. There're enough repeats on the other two already - at least with ONE you knew what you were getting.

The race was rather heartstopping. (I will supress the urge to post spoilers, even though I'd like to vent some thoughts ... but all in all, I think Abu Dhabi was a tad more exciting).

There is an article on cnet.com.au from April 27 2012 that discusses the ONE/Ten
HD/SD F1 coverage issue and providing live coverage for viewers in Adelaide and
Perth -
http://www.cnet.com.au/ten-flips-on-...-339336776.htm

See also http://www.smh.com.au/business/indus...426-1dv00.html
which discusses the sidelining of then "sports channel" ONE HD when Jamie Packer and Lachlan Murdoch bought a chunk of the
Ten network. Sports is a big draw card for pay TV and ONE HD was a thorn in its side.

Good to see Mark Webber pipping up about the coverage woes too

I was on zeebox and made sure to tell network 10 how I felt about the race being on SD.

To be honest I would not mind paying (if we had the choice) for Skybox so I could press the BLUE or RED button and get Onboard views during the race

But we can't look a gift horse in the mouth right?

Great racing, it was very entertaining, looking to the start of the new season but don't forget there's always off season test sessions and time trials.

Carlos, if you think back a few years, we had virtually no coverage of F1, and what we did get was always played in the wee small hours.

That's very true Laurie I remember those 11pm starts and the only time there'd be a pre-show was during the Melbourne GP.

Speculation about Vettel passing an SRT under yellows.

Ferrari have protested.

Check out the footage yourself and tell me what you think.

Yes I am an Alonso fan but without giving a biased opinion to me it looks he did pass under yellow therefore Alonso can be the champion this year
