Trifid July 16,17

Endless cloudy nights have given me incentive to try reprocessing old data, in this case the Trifid from July. My first attemps in July were horrible and I thought that maybe there was a problem with data. I'm glad I tried again. I think this might be ok from North Curl Curl.

No LP Filter on this data:

TEC140, G2-8300 at 1.14 arcsec.

Lum and RGB all 1x1: 6 (5min)Lum + 5(5 min) RGB.

Comments appreciated. I want to learn!!! Thanks.

Peter

Lovely contrasty colours Peter, you have brought out all the subtle colours the Triffid is famous for too ie the slight green, the blue, the white and of course the reds and magentas..nice work on a cloudy night

Thanks everybody for the comments. I feel like I've suddenly jumped ahead in my processing ability. I have to give most of the credit to Adam Block's tutorials on CCDStack and Photoshop. Highly recommended!! If you don't know who Adam Block is he runs the amateur observing program at Kitt Peak near Tucson. There is a chance I might meet up with him in March when I visit Arizona...
