M57

Hello,
this is my first try at M57 the Ring Nebula. I will do better next time with longer exposure if I can polar align better and hopefully I'll have a focal reducer soon which should also help by reducing the F10 of the C9.25.
I was just very happy to see colors coming out so it's definitely a target for the next session!
cheers

Cheers

Another good'n

Frank your images are pretty darn good considering the miniscule exposures you are using! That 20Da seems like a winner, you must be rapped?

What mount is the C9.25 on?

Once you get well aligned and more importantly start guiding, you'll see a significant improvemnet in your images I'm sure

Mike,
Thanks for the kind words! I've been gazing at your pics in magazines with Awe for quite some time (cool webpage by the way and hope you stay in the Canberra region!).
I'm using a C9.25 on the CG5 goto mount, pretty basic equipement. I do hope to guide at some point but might wait until I build the observatory (plans flowing through my head...).
I've also got a focal reducer coming which will help (especially combined with proper polar alignment).
I cant get over this web community here at IIS, all the support and encouragement is really great, a real boost!

The 20Da is fabulous! I dedicated my first half descent pic of M42 taken with my new 20Da to Striker for his kind and generous help in helping me get the equipement I needed.

Its an honour to be in the company of the Greats here in IIS ! I'll keep trying to do it justice.
Thanks
frank

Frank....just what MIke said...better polar alignment and guiding and you will be deleting these images...lol

Even small amount off driff and PE can ruin your image but saying this your doing a wonderfull job because it's all new to you.
