oortcloud.org

I am wondering if anyone is aware of the forum "oortcloud.org"? Could someone tell me a bit about it as I was unaware - and rather surprised - to come across it.

Its a great site run by Paul Hease and Rob Kauffman, ? else - both IIS members with a wonderful knowledge of things astronomical and photographical. I have a great interest in comets, and Rob is ze Master of all those interesting phenomemon.

A very friendly down to Earth Group, and have been a member for a few years.

Thanks for the info everyone. I was totally unaware of this site - a bit slow on the internet these days! Good to see diversity available to Australian astronomers. Not that IIS isn't a fabulous resource!!!!!

Thanks for the thread Richard.

I was a member of the old SCP forum but thought it had closed down, I didn't realise they had changed their name and site.

I hope my old password still works.

Cheers

The trouble here was yes, the name got changed & the members were never notified. I was a prolific poster there until just recently. The place is now deader than a dodo unfortunately. I dare say Paul with let it lapse.

It's been fun at SCP (prefer that name than Ort cloud) for a lot of years Andrew! It's a pity it's almost come to closure..

I checked my password last night and it still works.

I checked the email address and it was my old one before I changed service providers. That's probably the only one I forgot to change.

I'll have to jump on and say hello.

Cheers
