The Migration Begins

There is a migration underway as astronomers begin to move north. Amongst my friends, a car left on Sunday another two go tomorrow (hurray!) another on Saturday and one on Monday. The fly-ins start next week, one next Wednesday and three on Friday. This same story must be going on all over the country - groups of friends traveling independently but planning to meet. Who else is on the road or will be? I think the chance of meeting other eclipse travelers must be pretty high.

Hi David,

The same happened during the South Australian eclipse of 2002.

At just about every petrol station and cafe you would stop at along the way,
you would bump into someone you knew.

Already amateurs astronomers and eclipse chasers from around the world have
begun to fly into Sydney.
