Flaming birds nest

Flaming birds nest

Ok. It's Orion but you've gotta admit it does look like there's going to be some boiled eggs soon!
Did this with a recently purchased second hand Celestron C10-N F4.7 scope that I'm still trying to collimate properly as I've discovered a curious problem with my eyesight. You see my right eye has fairly severe astigmatism and although my left is somewhat better my preferred eye for adjusting the secondary is my right. Catch is that if I adjust the secondary to be round with my right eye and then look at it with my left eye, it's oval!! Mumble, mumble. To make matters worse if I move my head slightly left or right my graded glasses turn a circle into a left or right leaning oval. I'm sticking to adjusting the secondary using a web cam and some software circles from now on.
Enjoy
Stephen

Great shot. Very sharp. If you can tone the core down a little you'll have a pretty picture for the cool wall.

Yep, astigmatism, effects my long sight, eg 5 moons instead of one, lol. The webcam sounds like a great idea, Nice work !
