Ngc 300

Happy with this one after strugling with noise, the big stars and color balance.

Taken from Singleton, NSW
RCX400 14" F8 and QHY11
LRGB: 230,140,140,140 10 min subs

I hope you like it,

Enrique

Image changed: background value increased and big stars improved.

Wow Enrique, that's pretty good, excellent details coming through there in the galaxy arms, this is a hard one to process (actually, I've been avoiding it myself ). On my monitor the background looks clipped though, it's pitch black, can you bring that back a bit?

Nice work

Mike

Nice NGC300!
I tried imaging this before. Even with 15min subs i wasn't able to get much detail out of it.

Great job.

Hi Enrique,
That's a finely detailed image.
I would hope to do as well if these clouds would clear.
Would it be possible to get the galaxy a little brighter with processing?

Thank you very much for your kind comments.

Mike: the background in the darkest area shows a value of 16 in photoshop. It does not look pitch black in my monitor. Anyhow, I recalibrated my monitor and increased the background to 19 to 20. It should not look pitch black.

This image was very tricky to process. The most difficult for me so far. It took me a long time and still there are things that could be fixed.

Regards and thanks,

Enrique
