Joadja experience

I visited Joadja shale mining heritage site in the Southern Highlands. There was this tar pit that was fenced off and the guide stepped inside to show us what the tar looked like, he also said that in summer the pit was dangerous as one would sink very quickly.
An amazing place well worth a visit...

Is Joadja open to the public again?

We used to go there 30+ years ago when we were kids, but it's been closed for a very long time.

Cheers,
Jason.
