They're supposed to be rather good but I have no personal experience. You could try Cloudynights or Birdforum (eg. Leica vs Swarovski). Are they just for astro use or for more general use? 12x can be hard to handhold steadily, but it is doable for short periods.

It's for both astro and birding .10 x50 may ,be better for general.
Most reviews say the design ,balance, is so good that hand holding is not a issue .

got it!!

got one at last. what to say! Its nothing but two 50mm top class beautifully engineered apochromats joined by a hinge and they call it binoculars. it was a close chioce between the 12x50 and 10 x 50 EL as they both weigh same . its feels heavy at first but once u start handling not a worry. it seems to be extremely well balanced and a great grip . The thumb detents feel too good. great for specs wearers.great for both birding with very fast and smooth focus and of course astro. as sharp as my NP 101. hey why did i buy all the "bulky TV 101" telescope ,the eye peices , and all the related headaches of transport ,air line carry bag, mounts when there is more to be seen in this compact ,ultraportable stuff called as a swaro EL 12 x 50 binoculars!!!
