Robert, you keep bumping this item along, but how about telling us more about what it can do? My initial search revealed that it is an extended database for the EQ6 mount. But will it act as a substitute for the hand controller and allow you to set up the GoTo alignment as well?

Yes you can use it to control the EQ6 mount. It does up to a 3 star alignment. I have applied the latest firmware which allows it to autoguide properly in the southern hemisphere. You have full control over the slewing speed. So it can be used as a planetarium and hand controller in one device
