Guardian of the Valley

After an almost 10 hour drive from the Bungle Bungles trying to reach Home Valley Station before dark, we spotted an open area with a few scattered Boab trees nicely positioned with the magnificent Cockburn Range as a backdrop.

We pulled the truck off the road and spent about 30 minutes photographing this beautiful area. I climbed up an embankment to get a more elevated view and captured this 10 image panorama which I’ve called “Guardian of the Valley” – the Boab tree looks like its standing guard with the beautiful mountain range in the background.

Well worth looking at the large view.

Shot with my 5D Mk II, 24-105mm lens @ 47mm, f/9, ISO500, 1/800s exposures. Panorama created in AutoPano Pro and processed using Lightroom and Photoshop.

Thanks for looking!
