Purnululu Reflections

One of the last shots I took during our sunrise session at the Bungle Bungles, was this beautiful reflection in one of the two small remaining pools of water along Piccaninny Creek.

I can't imagine the rush of water through here during the wet season, but a few months after the rains stopped, there was very little water left - it evaporates very quickly with consistent hot days and no new rainful to replenish.

We were lucky to have two small pools left - in another week or two they would've dried up too. We all took advantage of every angle to try and get some reflections of the beautiful beehive domes in the still water.

The image is a panorama made up of 5 images with a Canon 5D Mk II, Canon 24-105mm lens @ 24mm, f/9, ISO400, 1/160s exposures.

The Bungle Bungles is part of Purnululu National Park in the Kimberley region of North West Australia.

Great shot Mike. Fabulous colours and exposure.

I can tell that was not your normal lens though. The rocks could do with a bit of sharpening as its a tad soft compared to your Samyang shots.

Greg.
