While in Wellington...

Hello everyone!

I've just been in Wellington (NZ not NSW) for work and had a wander around town in between meetings. I took the cable car up to the Botanic Gardens and discovered this up there. I wish I'd had a bit more time to actually go in.. maybe next time!!

Cheers,
Mario

Yep, Carter Observatory is a nice place to visit.
I've looked through the refractor there too. It was a loooong time ago and I can't remember what was on offer that night.

There is a sundial on the north side, too. One of those ones where you become the gnomon. The inside is not bad, more a museum these days, but I can't remember if they do nights any more.

If only I'd walked a little further!! It's a great view from up there although it was drizzling and windy - only 9C - so for this Brisbane resident not the warmest of days!!

They did a major refurb about 5 or 6 years ago. Here's their site now.
