Hello All

Hi all
Well this is my first post (aside from the spider photos) i am lovin it on this site i have always had a passion for Astronomy and the things i see here only make me want to involve myself more. I am amazed at the contibutions in the form of help topics and posting photos etc.
I have an inherited 10" F5 newt on EQ mount which is in a very poor state, i will ask for help in pointing me in the right direction for advise on fixing each component. In the meantime i have my eye on a GSO 12" Dob (will help me through the long cold winter ), but i want to get the 10" running as i want to get involved in photography.
I am blown away at the great photos you are getting and if i can eventually get 1/2 the quality of these i will be very happy

Good luck with getting the EQ up and fully functional. It's always a pleasure to welcome another to "The Dark Side"

HI and welcome Spudrick.

Good luck with the EQ mount. I can vouch for the 12" GSO dob - she's a beaut!

Thanks everyone, i will be asking and hopefully get some good advice from you guys.
@Iceman: i was searching for "recoat telescope mirror" (the 10" needs recoating badly! and the search pointed to an article on this forum, so i just poked around and was amazed at the information and obvious enthusiastic community spirit and decided it was the place for me.
Made contact with Andrews for costing on the 12" (freight etc) so should have a new addition to the family soon.
