Not happy Jan
Last night I thought that I'd set up the binos and tripod to check out the comet. It was quite dark walking out to the shed, and I was looking up to see how clear it was, as you do, when I forgot that the big hose was lying in front of the shed door. To cut a long story short,
The doctor today sent me to the hospital who sent me home with crutches, and x rays tomorrow to find out if I've split my knee cap in half.
( insert swear words here )
Not happy Jan.

Wow. Sorry to hear that.
Knees are such a strange and painful area of the body.
It's funny how you rarely hear of an "insignificant" knee injury

LOL...
Sorry to hear that JJ, I split my knee cap into 3 pieces once (mind you I never felt it at the time ) Was in a brace for 6 weeks. The only good thing about it is you have the time to sit and observe.
Heres hoping you are alright.

Hi JJ
Oh dear, not the news we like to hear eh. Heal the knee and get better soon. No doubt lots of love, care and attention from hubby and the kids will be lavished upon you whilst you put your feet up to recuperate.
Cheers

Commiserations, J-cubed. Recover quickly, that's an order.
(Makes your signature a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy, though.)
Cheers,
Brian.

Oh dear! Not Good Jeanette!!!
I mainly only have to put up with Sheep poo, rabbit holes, and black dogs that can't be seen in the dark.
Glad I don't keep a hose in the yard!!!!
Rest well, and keep your spirits up.

Bugger...! Here's wishing you a speedy recovery.
Knee's are nasty injuries. I smashed mine playing Rugby a few years ago. Kept me off the field for a good 3months.
I'm sure you'll recover quicker though! Ahh the joys of a wary astronomer. We've all been there.

Ouch from me too. All the best for a speedy recovery.
I think the topic of observing injuries deserves a thread of its own
I had a near miss on the way to an observing site by virtue of an idiot who decided to come at me going the wrong way up the freeway and clipped me

Owwwwww!!!! Owwwwww!!!!
I'm squirming just thinking about it. That is terrible Jeanette. I hope the news is good tomorrow and its just bruised. Crutches are a pain in the armpit, literally.
If you can't get around for observing you might have to get your hubby to build you one of those binocular chairs that was at the Qld Astrofest last year. (Can he build one for me too while he's at it, it was fantastic )
Take care mate and I hope everything turns out rosy tomorrow with the xrays.
