Any suggestions for an annoying beep please

Hi Guys, would anyone have any idea why my desk top has decided to give me a beep every 2 minutes or there abouts.

It has never done this before other than if there was a error or similar.

It all works fine and no error message is displayed, it is quite annoying i might add.

Can that beep be turned off, and if so how dose one go about it, I run XP.

Many thanks in advance.

Leon

Could be that the bios is letting you know the temperature is too high.
Make sure the fan is running ok. Might be a good idea to clean the dust out.

Fraser, funny you said that, before you responded, i pulled it down and cleaned it dust wise, and reinserted all the leads etc, guess what, it is all fine now, have to admit it was a bit dusty, and we are in the NT and it is bloody hot.

When using your lappie Leon it would pay to put something at the back under it to tilt it off the desk surface. We use lots of lappies here and anytime they are used for long periods as a desktop machine we issue a docking station. Improves the cooling no end as normally the inlet fan is mounted somewhere beneath and suffers air flow restriction when flat on a desk type surface. Also sucks less dust which helps your other problem.
