Will this jet stream ever stop

I'm starting to go stir crazy again. When is the jet stream going to settle down for a decent nights viewing again. Sheesh.

Tell me about it.. majorly annoyed by it, even more so since the weather has been clear for the majority of nights.

It will clear the moment I walk in from the back yard from waiting to star test my SCT's collimation and check the impact of my new mirror cooling mod on my newt.

I haven't even bought a new eyepiece or shiny gadget. It's not fair!

I hope bird gets here soon and brings some stable atmosphere with him. The astronomy gods seem to like him.

It has been like that for ages. Where are you getting the jetstream info from?

There's a bunch of weather resources (including jetstream maps) on this IceInSpace weather page.

With no hope of high resolution Jupiter imaging due to the unstable seeing, last night I dragged out the 4" Vixen refractor and mounted it side by side with my newish WO 80mm ED triplet and boy, was it simply stunning to look at open clusters and doubles again through decent refractors.

The views were very pleasing and soon it was 4:00am - crikey, I'll be tired all day today!

Cheers

Dennis

Been full on here - not so much twinkling but stars actually dissappearing if not carrying on like a set of celestial traffic lights. Guess it will clear out for the full moon
