Hi all.
A few people are unsure how to add a signature to their posts, so here's a quick tutorial.
See the attached screenshot which will accompany this text.
1. Click on the "User Control Panel", or "User CP" link in the Nav Bar below the logo. See the arrow pointing to it in the screenshot.
2. The User CP has a lot of functions to change the behaviour of the forum for you, including:
- Email address and password
- Signature
- Profile (what people see if they click on your name)
- Forum options (including timezone, thread display style, email notifications etc)
- Avatar (the little picture next to your name when you post)
- Profile Picture (the picture displayed when people view your profile)
3. Click on the "Edit Signature", (see the arrow in the screenshot) and you'll see the screen as shown in the screenshot.
4. From there, you can add/edit your signature. You can use BBCODE in place of HTML (ie: bold, links, underline, etc). Images in sigs are disabled.
5. Preview/submit, and that's it! Now your signature will appear beneath all your posts.
It's worth noting the forum guidelines for avatars and signatures at this point (section 7 of the
TOS):
Quote:
* Avatars must be no bigger than 80x80 and 25k in size.
* Please keep signatures to a minimum, and don't have large blocks of text or images in your signature. Please try to keep them smaller than 3-5 lines in size. Remember that there could be 20 signatures on a single loaded page, and sometimes it's hard to find the post amongst the signatures. Please be considerate and keep them as small as possible. HTML is not allowed in signatures. Use vbCode instead.
