Want a western field trip?

Been out western Queensland, for 3 nights-I did not overly enjoy myself,I was stationed on at a sheep station, never been on a sheep station, and its was certainly an education,I much prefer beef properties-they couldn't even offer me a cuppa tea after driving seven hours to kerb their dingo issues.I was board out of my brain-no internet,no phone,no T.V,and no one to talk too-little instruction-the property was vast 10 k drive to check closet traps-I think it was 250,000,never got to talk to owner face to face and look him in the eye-always very important when they say they will pay $500 a hit over the phone.
(if it starts of not so good-one usually knows how it will end-no scalps on this recon trip)

I was thinking about going back, but only if I can find someone to come with,I found a suitable camp site, away from quarters-(there was a grumpy old lady in one of the houses-so will not go back there.

Anyhow-I managed to salvage a few images-although I was not really in high form, after what I had to go through, and put up with.

So if anyone in S.E QLD is seriously interested in a field trip/camp,out west, let me know-I am not going back to this alone again. You will have to have some abilities in camping,I've got most of the gear-engal,solar panels, tent etc,the view of image 2,3 is from the camp site I have selected.

Some very good prospects for astro imaging here,I got a very good field of veiw very low to the ground,I'll post a few sample images of them shortly-here is some to start with

Thanks Derek-glad you like images-the location had good potential for photography,If I return to a near by location, astrophotography will be my main menu item.

Certainly a few 'bustards' in the bush,I did get a few other images of the plains turkeys going through there circus play together.

Also saw a inland tiapan, but I did not stay around long enough to get close and photograph.(natural history students will know where these rank in the world venom chart)
